Cecchetti Graded Classes: These classes are separate from regular ballet classes.
They consist of set work from the C.C.A. Students taking these classes should expect to be examined.
Jazz: is dance set to popular or jazz music and requires ballet technique for control
of the body. It develops agility, strength in turns and leaps, and a sense of modern rhythms. Jazz releases the dancer to express, through movement, in a more unconventional way than
ballet.
Tap: is set to many different types of music; musical comedy, jazz, popular, etc.
Tap develops a sense of rhythm in the dancer.
Hip-Hop: includes a wide range of styles notably breaking, locking, and popping,
which became popular in the late 70's. As seen today, Hip Hop is a broad category that incorporates a variety
of old and new urban dance styles which are often freestyle (improvisational in nature).
